Brand Storytelling & Strategic Communications

In today’s crowded nonprofit landscape, where organizations compete for limited funding and donor attention, strategic storytelling isn’t optional—it’s essential. With over a decade of experience in brand storytelling and strategic communications, I help mission-driven organizations craft compelling, audience-centric narratives that drive funding, influence, and measurable impact.

My foundation in storytelling began in 2007 during an internship at a local news station, where I learned the power of connecting stories to real people and outcomes. Since then, I’ve combined brand storytelling with a deep understanding of audience psychology, history, and popular culture to help organizations sharpen their messaging and expand their reach.

Poor communication can cost organizations up to 50% of their potential revenue, according to a 2015 Harvard Business Review article—and I’ve seen this firsthand. I specialize in aligning a nonprofit’s mission with messaging that resonates with funders, the media, and the communities they serve. The results speak for themselves: since 2015, I’ve helped organizations secure and manage over $13 million in grant funding.

By integrating AI tools and creating streamlined content workflows, I’ve reduced content creation time by 78%, empowering organizations to focus on what matters most: their mission. Whether it’s a grant proposal, impact report, or campaign launch, I create persuasive communications that drive support, build credibility, and position nonprofits to thrive in a competitive environment.

"Brittany worked well with our team, was extremely professional, proved to be an excellent researcher and successful grant writer, and quickly grasped the needs of our organization. Thanks to her we were able to secure several key foundation grants, including a $50,000 grant from the Moody Foundation to secure funding for our clients impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Brittany’s assistance during a time of transition for us was very helpful."
